Project Value $269 Million

The Vertical Gas Corridor is a strategic energy infrastructure initiative designed to enhance energy security and diversify natural gas supply routes in Central and Southeastern Europe. The corridor aims to connect national gas networks along a north-south axis from the Baltic Sea to the Aegean Sea, encompassing networks in Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary. The project involves Transmission System Operators (TSOs) from seven countries: Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova, and Ukraine, and aims to reduce dependence on Russian supplies.

Two main contracts for the construction of the Vertical Gas Corridor are for the loopings Kulata-Kresna and Rupcha-Vetrino. Work under these contracts will increase capacity at the interconnection points between Greece and Bulgaria and Bulgaria and Romania. Following completion of this work, Bulgarian gas transmission infrastructure will be able to supply additional quantities of natural gas from reliable sources.

Hill, as part of a consortium, will help to manage and execute the project. Our scope encompasses program and project management support services, including design management, project controls, and construction supervision.
