Project Value $70 million
Hill provided construction management and claims consulting services for the Port of Long Beach-Pier project. Consisting of approximately 123 areas of unpaved land created from dredged sediments, the site was used for the disposal of earth, construction debris, drilling mud from oil operations and crude oil tank bottoms. When disposal ceased, residual liquids were removed, and the sumps were covered with two to three feet of clean soil. Hill’s duties comprised reviewing contract documents, including project plans and specifications, verifying constructability, and evaluating documents for claims avoidance.
