Hill is providing owner’s representative services to UMBA for the Substructure Demolition and Quadrangle Development (SDQD) project at the University of Massachusetts’s (UMass) Boston campus. The project will renew the structural integrity of the plaza, develop a welcoming student and community space, and create a unifying campus experience. The project involves the demolition of the Science Center, pool building, and the majority of the plaza; construction of a new quadrangle (including structures to protect foundations of remaining buildings); restoration of the remaining plaza areas; and construction of a new, 500-plus space surface parking lot. The project will also include a final landscaping and seasonally dependent planting program.
