Hill was hired by the Town of Natick, MA, through the Natick High School Building Committee and the
School Committee, to provide owner’s project management services for the new Natick High School. Hill
helped the Town address the problems associated with the existing high school by producing a report
evaluating different renovation and construction options. New construction of a model high school was
determined to be the optimal solution and the Town proceeded with the schematic design phase of the
project.

Hill used the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) Model School program to expedite the
feasibility and design phases. These phases were completed in about six months, which is half the time
of a conventional process. Design and procurement phases were also expedited. The project was
advertised nearly a year early. As a result, the Town realized about $10 million in savings, compared to
original estimates. These savings enabled the Town to move forward on other projects. The project is
well-known as one of the highest returns on investment for an MSBA-funded project.

The 3-story, 255,000 SF building has a design enrollment of 1,300 students in grades nine through
twelve and includes football and soccer fields. The school has been awarded LEED Silver Certification by
the U.S. Green Building Council.
