Hill’s work on this capital improvement program began with pre-bond phase activities and a successful bond campaign for the Wenatchee School District in Wenatchee, WA. Hill assisted the District with the selection of two architectural firms for this program. Then, Hill assisted the District in securing GC/CM approval for three of the five projects. Specific projects included:
Lincoln Elementary Addition and Modernization: This 87,200 SF, $23.7 million project comprises the addition of a 12-classroom wing and the modernization of the entire existing school building, including classrooms, offices, bathrooms, gym, and library.
Pioneer Middle Gym Modernization: This $6.6 million project involves the modernization of the school gymnasium. Works are designed to address interior and exterior safety and infrastructure improvements and include the installation of new outdoor bleachers, stadium lighting, and an artificial turf playing field.
Washington Elementary Replacement: This 72,000 SF, $29.5 million project replaces the oldest school in the District, originally built in 1953. Work included a new state-of-the-art school building and reconfiguration of the site, including new separate bus and parent drop-off and pick-up areas to increase student safety, new playgrounds, and landscaping.
Special Education/Early Childhood Learning Center: This 19,000 SF, $6.1 million project comprised the modernization of a special education/early childhood learning center. Work included installing new mechanical and electrical systems, replacing the roofing, insulation, doors, and windows, installing new finishes, and making the building ADA compliant.
Mission View Elementary Site Improvements: This $650,000 project involved the redesign of the School’s parking lot to improve the safety of walkways used by students and other pedestrians. Work includes a new student drop-off and pick-up area for buses and parents, as well as additional parking.
