The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) is an intermodal transit system managed through a joint project of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission and the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission. VRE provides safe, cost effective, accessible, reliable, convenient, and comfortable commuter-oriented rail passenger service connecting Northern Virginia with Union Station in Washington, DC.
Hill International is support VRE’s Capital Improvement Program as Program Management Consultant through an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. Specific projects under the CIP Hill may support include maintaining SOGR of passenger equipment and facilities. Major projects under the CIP include Quantico Station improvements, Broad Run expansion on the Manassas Line, Fredericksburg Station rehabilitation, the Backlick Road Platform Extension, and improvements to Alexandria Station.
