Komotini Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant

Location Komotini, Greece

Client Thermoilektrik Komotoniis S.A.

Services Project Management

Project Value $404 million

Hill is providing owner’s engineer, project management, and construction oversight services, including complete design review (FEED, basic design, detailed design), project controls, cost consultation and budget monitoring, schedule supervision, QA/QC and HSE supervision, onsite construction and equipment suppliers/vendors supervision, mechanical completion, commissioning, and start-up supervision and certification for a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant in Komotini, in Northern Greece. The plant will have a 876.6 MW power output (gross), and will be built on an E2 plot within the Komotini Industrial Area.

The facility will be a SIEMENS CCGTP model 1xSCC5-9000HL, single shaft 1×1 PI with gross plant output of 876.6 MW, based on 1xSIEMENS gas turbine model SGT5-9000HL exhausting into a dedicated heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). The steam produced is conveyed to a condensing type 1x Siemens steam turbine model SST-5000 where it is expanded, producing additional electric power. The steam discharged by the turbine is condensed by an air-cooled condenser. All produced electric power will be directed to the National Public Network via two double 400kV 7km transmission lines.
