The Park of Maritime Tradition “Odysseus – The Greeks and the Sea” is a cultural and educational landmark dedicated to Greece’s maritime heritage. Funded by Cyclops, a non-profit organization founded by shipowner and naval architect Anastasios-Aris Theodoridis, the 16,000 SM park will be located on a 1.6-hectare public site along the southern coast of Attica at Flisvos, Athens.
The Park will include a multipurpose building with exhibition areas, an auditorium, and spaces for educational programs. Outdoor exhibits will feature historic vessels, including battleships, a submarine, and a traditional shipyard, while a traditional ouzeri, a café, and a restaurant will enhance the visitor experience. A dedicated dock will provide temporary mooring for additional historic ships.
Following construction, which is expected to last 36 months, Cyclops will donate the Park to the Greek State. The Hellenic Navy and the Ministry of National Defense will manage the completed facility, which will serve as a center for research, education, and cultural exchange and foster a deeper appreciation of Greece’s maritime legacy.
Hill is overseeing the entire project life cycle, providing design and cost monitoring, permitting, contract execution, and construction management services to help deliver the Park as envisioned.
