Hill’s project management of airport projects and programs gives us an understanding of what makes airports unique and how to effectively identify and manage risks within an airport’s capital improvement plan. Our team’s airport program management approach is based on our risk management experience with airport construction. This background gives us an in-depth understanding of what can go wrong on airport projects, including risks associated with program, project, and construction management support services. Hill has managed the construction of such notable bridge projects as the elegant Alfred E. Driscoll Bridge in New Jersey and the award-winning Gold Line rail bridge in California. We know that every bridge project is unique and has its own unique challenges, ranging from construction in highly constrained and difficult environments, to intense public and governmental scrutiny, to often-inflexible
budgets and completion schedules.  Hill works closely with the project team to help ensure these vital transportation links are completed successfully.

Hill’s worldwide marine experience includes ports, piers, ferry and cruise ship terminals, marine transfer stations, container and general cargo terminals, harbors, and related maritime facilities. This experience encompasses construction of new facilities as well as rehabilitation, renovation, and expansion to existing sites. Critical components of these projects have included passenger and cargo terminals, cargo storage and transfer, construction of support structures, roadways, and railroads. Hill has provided construction management for projects involving significant marine dredging, reclamation, and dredged material management.

The growth of cities and their surrounding suburban towns has led to the creation of “super-cities” around the globe. This growth has resulted in transit agencies scrambling to keep up with demand for safe, reliable service. As a result, the time allotted for a transit project to go from planning to completion has been dramatically reduced, while the value of each project and the scope of work required have grown exponentially. Hill’s rail and transit practice leaders have helped deliver projects that met if not exceeded client expectations as well as the praise of ridership and the communities served. This includes our work on such projects as the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension in Pasadena, California, the Mumbai Metro in India, Denver RTD’s FasTracks Program in Colorado, and the Cairo Monorail in Egypt.

Road and highway projects must be delivered safely and on-schedule, especially during rehabilitations or expansions that impact commuters, while also minimizing the impact of work to the motoring public. Increasingly, road and highway projects also incorporate cutting-edge technology for tolling and traffic control, requiring installation and integration of intelligent transportation systems. Hill has supported the construction of major roads and highways around the world, including the economically and politically pivotal Morinë-Merdare Motorway in Kosovo, lane additions to Interstate 5 through Los Angeles County, Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania, the New Jersey Turnpike, and the Central FLorida Expressway.
